Write Now

Agatha Christie Festival has forged a new partnership with local arts education charities DAISI  and MED Theatre, ‘We call our collaboration ‘Write Now’. Our aim is to offer children and young people in Torbay and neighbouring Teignbridge the chance to write creatively, making the most of the inspiring places we live in – our beautiful coastline, the magic of the moorland-- including an opportunity to perform the new work to a Festival audience.

In 2024 Write Now was generously supported by The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.

News of our new 2025 Write Now programme and how to take part will be announced in late Spring.

At the start of 2024 we issued a call-out for young people 8-19 years of age to join us for a series of high impact, huge fun, Easter Holiday and Summer School workshops taking place on Dartmoor, a place close to Agatha Christie’s heart, and at 4 Torbay schools, expertly facilitated by DAISI and MED Theatre and designed to hone young talent at writing and performing and working as a team. We were delighted that award-winning playwright & screen-writer Bea Roberts was able to join us to support & mentor the work produced by our young participants.
