Last year we responded to your feedback and provided a minibus to Agatha Christie’s former holiday home at Greenway. This proved so popular with our new and returning guests alike that we are offering it again this year. But do book early, as seats sold out very quickly last year.
Pick up from outside of the Pavilion in Torquay is at 10am, and the minibus will take you on the half-hour journey through country lanes to the estate on the banks of the River Dart that Agatha called 'the loveliest place in the world'. The property offers visitors an extraordinary glimpse into the private life of the Queen of Crime and her family. You will also be able to explore the stunning gardens that spill down to the river and learn about the two novels she set here, Five Little Pigs and Dead Man’s Folly. In the latter, it appears as Nasse House, while the boat house was the scene of the murder. It was also where David Suchet filmed the very final episode of Poirot. If you are a National Trust member, you can also opt for a minibus only ticket.
Departs from outside The Pavilion in Torquay at 10am and returns from Greenway at 2pm.
Bus and Entry to Greenway House and Gardens: £34. Bus only: £17
The Pavilion is on Torquay seafront very close to the harbour.
If you are walking or driving, you can put The Pavilion, Vaughan Road, Torquay TQ2 5EQ in your sat nav or use What3Words ducks.storms.shall.
A number of buses stop right by the Pavilion including the 12, the 122 or the 22. Plan your journey on the Stagecoach website.
