Past Perfect? Agatha Christie and Changing Times

Agatha Christie is often considered a nostalgic, comforting writer. While we can all enjoy her books and their adaptations for comfort and escapism, they spanned several decades from the 1910s to the 1970s, and rarely present the past as a better time. Looking at some Christie classics, Jamie Bernthal-Hooker, author of Agatha Christie: A Companion to the Mystery Fiction, looks at how the Queen of Crime changed with the world around her – and uncovers her complex relationship to the past.

Tickets for this event include a chance to explore Bygones, an attraction that lets you explore 100 years of history through over 2000 historic artifacts. The venue will be exclusively open for ticket holders at 9am, or you can return later that day or anytime over the weekend with your ticket.

Please note, tickets for this event are limited to 50 people and includes a visit to the attraction, the talk and a tea or coffee.
