They’ll create a classic murder mystery on-the-spot every night in the ingenious and original improvised comedy production. You, the audience, become the author as the cast act out your very own Agatha Christie-inspired masterpiece live on stage. Each show, this extraordinarily talented company use audience suggestions to create a unique, original and extremely comical improvised murder mystery just for you. All you have to do… is solve it!

Ms Gold poisoned at a synchronised swimming gala?

About the Company

Degrees of Error are a theatre company based in Bristol, focused on producing original comedic and dramatic improvised works. They are a resident troupe at The Bristol Improv Theatre, where they rehearse and perform regularly.

Their most famous show is ​ Murder, She Didn’t Write​, which they have toured around the UK since the show’s inception in 2013. Last year they became another sell-out sensation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where they became one of British Comedy Guide’s Best Reviewed Shows of the Fringe 2023.

Information

Getting to the venue

The easiest way of getting to the venue by public transport is to take the train from Torquay Train Station to Paignton Train Station. It’s just one stop and takes around five minutes. It’s then a 15-minute walk up through the main pedestrianised shopping precinct (Victora Street) and up through Palace Avenue Gardens to the theatre. The last train back is usually around 22:40.

The number 12 bus runs from Torquay harbour and along the seafront to Paignton Bus Station. It’s then a 15-minute walk to the theatre. The last bus back is around 2am in the morning! Find out more from the Stagecoach website.

Accessibility

The Place Theatre Paignton has excellent accessibility for a building that was constructed in the year that Agatha Christie was born. There is plenty of disabled parking nearby, while the theatre has a ramp for access. There is a public toilet for disabled visitors, which is a Changing Places toilet. Some staff have had disability awareness training, while they have emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors.
